Community Infrastructure & Resources
School building · Access to water · Community centre & storage

A community cannot grow without resources. Without a place to come together, without clean water, without a home for knowledge and help, families remain fragmented and helpless. Our first focus area: creating physical and institutional resources that the whole community can use. These are not aid projects—they are fundamental assets that belong to Mbamba Village Kande and that its people can build on for generations. The school building is more than bricks and roofs. It is where children spend their first day at school. It is where women train in farming methods. It is where the team organises itself and holds its meetings, where food is stored, where decisions are made. It is the heart of the community. Access to water is essential—for health, for farming, for life. This requires infrastructure, maintenance, commitment. Water is not a luxury; it is a fundamental right. The community space ensures that everything we do—education, training, coordination—has a permanent home. It says: this work matters, this is ours, this is here to stay. This is the foundation on which everything rests. A large part of the building will become classrooms for preschoolers, so that the children can finally make a proper start at the free primary school. It will be a public school with the slogan: Little voices equal choices. Where every faith is welcome and there is total equality for boys and girls!
Our school team consists of: two qualified teachers and two assistants, two women who cook and clean, and a guard.
Children will receive varied meals here. There will be a small office where residents can come with their questions, as well as toilets, a kitchen, a guardhouse and a large storage room for our own harvest. After that, we will fence the grounds, lay out a vegetable garden, start a chicken run and plant fruit trees.
We have also built a sports field for the older youngsters.
