Agricultural education
Through multiple pilots, we are training carefully selected farmers and a group of powerful women in sustainable agriculture – including at Crown Foundation. This is to avoid the use of artificial fertilizers (much better for the environment) and to make the work on the land much lighter for the predominantly women.
Knowledge is the key to healthier, sustainable agriculture instead of further depleting the soil. Farmers learn how to compost and work without expensive artificial fertilizers. They string together a multi-day course including transport, room, and board, where they learn the tricks of the trade and are shown that there are nothing but benefits to working with compost:
-Better for the environment
-No soil depletion for the next generation
-Much lighter work (for the women)
